We have upper and lower half slabs, we have normal and upside-down stairs, we even have corner stairs now to make more intricate details.
There’s just one thing missing to complete the whole shebang: Sideways slabs.
Sideways slabs could be used for many things, such as thin walls, thin outlines, but that’s as far as I can go. If these were added, people would most certainly find more interesting ways to use them.
Someone complained that we don’t need this and that Jeb stated in this interview. But these unlike item frames and flower pots.Which aren’t construction blocks and do make sense. I’m not saying any block that doesn’t fill the whole cubic meter of space shouldn’t be added, but we don’t’ need all these partial block variations, specifically sideways slabs and sideways stairs. It’s excessive and not necessary.
I’d use the hell out of some sideways slabs. Whether or not the coding would be simple enough I’m certainly not trying to debate, but as far as excessive is concerned, I don’t see why there should be any limitations on blocks just for the sake of aesthetics. Bring on the new blocks! Even the “unnecessary” ones!\
