The Nether Needs It’s Own Background Music

OK, now just hear me out on this: I was talking to my friend taurian42 and we were discussing  a problematic aspect of the game. Minecraft’s music is by far one of my favorite parts of the game, but it’s rather out of place for a hellish scene like the Nether. Even when there’s nothing around and/or nothing’s trying to kill you, the music doesn’t fit all that well, especially “Sweden,” “Minecraft,” “Haggstorm” and “Danny.” This has been suggested a couple of times before, and many a time someone has said something along the lines of “Well, the music is what defines Minecraft,” etc., etc. To be honest, I could definitely be jumping to the wrong conclusions, but to me it just sounds like they don’t like or want any change.

The Nether should still have calm music, though. Nothing that says “AHHHHHHH WE’RE IN HELL WE’RE GONNA DIE THERE’S NO HOPE!!!1!!11!!!” or “WELCOME TO HELL YOU’RE IMPRISONED ETERNALLY MWHAHAHAHA.” Something along the lines of… Satan has invited you to his mansion for a sincerely nice chat. He actually serves you good food and the place is rather cozy. But still, this is the lord of Hell himself. The music should be something that’s calm, almost relaxing, but still slightly eerie; not entirely unsettling. Maybe macabre is the best word to describe the ambiance I’m seeking.

So what do you guys think?
